The international seminar City Sets and Media Facades questions the meanings, functions and potentials of media in urban environments – and highlights the role of artists and cultural producers in defining, designing and developing the emerging communicative practices of urban screens and media facades.
What type of environment is constituted by urban media, what stories are told on the screens and billboards and by whom? How do physical and online spaces intersect and enable the participation of citizens? And how should we design and produce for the urban media? These are some of the questions addressed in the seminar.
The seminar is organized in the context of two urban media art events, City Noises and Media Facades Festival both opening on the Night of the Arts (23.08). The seminar is targeted to artists, designers, architects, researchers and others working within the urban and media spaces. We look forward to lively debates with participants during the two seminar days. Welcome!
